Fibre Auto Mouldings of Springvale, VIC, had been working with fibreglass from as early as 1959,

building a sporty vehicle on a VW base before commencing the building of buggies in the mid 1960's.

They produced 2 intirely different types.

The Condor which attempted to combine the features of a street buggy with those of a closed car. And the far more successful Astrum.

The Astrum was a classic example of a Stark, overly fun-type dune buggy,

Also built on the shortened 80 inch (2032mm) wheelbase platform, as was the pickup version.

A 4 seater FAM Astrum Stretch was also offered, which was built on the normal 94 1/2 inch (2520mm) wheelbase length VW platform.

The FAM Condor could be had with a hardtop and 'Gull-wing` doors suiting it to all-weather street use.

In addition to the shortened VW platforms, Astrum fabricated Steel chassis were also offered.

By 1971 the business of Keith and Joan Wilson had sold 3 Condors and 700 Astrums in 3 different forms
